Jumbo Low Profile Ball Intake Valve, Left or Right Hand Drive – AXD Series

Designed for use with 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5 or 6 inch (89, 100, 115, 125, or 150 mm) hose. The 30° intake elbow swivels 360°, has multiple positive detents and includes a cap lanyard anchor point. Make hose connections in any direction with minimal kinks and coupling stress. The valve is designed for pressure or vacuum service. Maximum operating pressure is 250 psi (17 bar). Meets 900 psi (62 bar) hydrostatic strength test. Seven and a half turns of the hand crank to close the valve meets NFPA slow close requirements. A reflective position indicator clearly shows the operator the valve’s position. The handcrank can be specified to operate in the front or the top of the valve to maximize clearance. A rugged ¼-turn Air Vent at the top of the valve allows air to be bled quickly. TFT’s adjustable Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) is installed with the discharge pointing downward and meets NFPA 1901. The aluminum castings are hardcoat anodized, and TFT powdercoat finished inside and out for maximum corrosion protection. All wetted components are aluminum alloys to prevent galvanic corrosion, and are specially coated for additional corrosion protection. Hose coupling and truck connections are attached to the valve using polymer bearing rings which can provide electrical isolation to help prevent galvanic corrosion.
